I am looking for information on my grandfather - LYNDON A. SUNDBERG.
He was awarded a silver star - under G.O. Number 100 in 1945. I am trying to identify why (and where) the medals were awarded during WWII.
Can you help? Any pictures on file of him from that period??

I am presently the Command Sergeant Major of the 95th Division(IT) in Oklahoma City. I will retire in April of 2008 but wish all to know how much I appreciate the honor of being associated with the 95th Infantry Divison and those Iron Men of Metz. I will never forget them and the contribution they made to our nation and the free world. |

My father,Joseph "Joe" McGovern was in the 95th in WWII. He was from Newark,NJ. He passed in 1988,without ever talking about his experiencesI am,just now, trying to find out what some of his patches, medals mean. Did anybody know him? |
