| Larry Wines | Signed on: Sat 02 Aug 2008 19:36:33 EDT My friend, Ken DeVault, is a 95th Division veteran. I have been encouraging him, for months, to attend the reunion. A few minutes ago, he came to me with the Association's web address, and he had decided to join all of you at this year's reunion. Alas, we discovered that the reunion is happening right now, this very weekend. Ken sends his best wishes to all of you, and you may feel free to write to him at my email address. He will receive your messages. |
| Jean Miller | Signed on: Tue 29 Jul 2008 23:21:34 EDT My father, Robert B. Hill, was a private and so proud of it and having served in the 95th Division. He said rank was never important to him, he just wanted to do his part and what was ask of him to serve. My parents were married on Oct. 30th,1941, Pearl Harbor was Dec. 7th, 1941 and my dad was drafted and left for the service on Feb. 1st, 1942. He was in the 320th Medical Batln., Co. B. He went to Brooks Gen. Hospital for X-ray tech, worked in the field hospital as operating room assistant and finished his duty driving an ambulance. His ambulance was hit by a shell while picking up the wounded. This happened in December, 1944, just one month after my birth. He was in the army hospital in France until spring of 1945 when the war ended. He was put on a hospital ship in pajamas and sent home. He did not see me until I was 9 months old. My father passed away in 1999. It was his last wishes that I donate all his 95th Journals to the Museum in Oklahoma. I was able to fulfill that wish on June 28th. SFC Raymond Navarro, currently stationed at the Museum and Twaddle Center, arranged an appointment to meet me at the museum. The tour of the Museum was wonderful. It is so important to keep the memories and records of the 95th for all to see and future generations. I made the donations my father wanted and hopefully additonalal items they will be able to display that I did not already see on display. My father would be so pleased that I saw the Museum in person. I can never thank all the veterans enough for what they did for our great country and it's citizens. If there is anyone who has someone connected to the 320th Medical Batln., please email me. I would really appreciate it. |
| Jennie Bick | Signed on: Sun 27 Jul 2008 17:11:48 EDT My husband and I just returned from a trip to France. While there, we were fortunate enough to spend a day in Metz. What an honor to walk the streets and see the sights my father, Marvin Austin, saw as one of the young Iron Men of Metz. We were deeply moved and overwhelmingly greatful for the sacrifices made for our freedom. Thank-you. |
