| Kristin | Signed on: Mon 28 Apr 2008 13:23:36 EDT I just returned from the 95th reunion with my Grandpa - Charles "Red" Whittington he was in 377th Co. I of 95th Infantry. The reunion was in Harrisburg, Pa near Ft Indiantown Gap where he was stationed from Febuary - July 1944 before being shipped to Europe for WWII. He is very proud to be an "Iron Men of Metz" - He talks little of his WWII experiences, until this trip. I was excited to finally learn of some of his experiences, missions and history of WWII. He was wounded 3 times and the trip to the museum at the Fort (as well as the reunion) got him to talk of the past times. - He even commited to writting/telling of his WWII story. I am more than happy to assist, and very proud of all he has done. God Bless All who have Served. - Best Wishes to all and Their Families. |
